REMODELING IN SHELBY TOWNSHIP

Kitchens and baths for Shelby Township homes.

Our Shelby Township work runs from a Diegel Farms kitchen with an induction cooktop island to a Springhill guest bathroom and a large-format tile floor in a 1999 Silent Woods home. HomeWorks CGO Inc. has remodeled kitchens and bathrooms since 2001. A Shelby Township project is measured at your home, drawn in 3D, chosen in person at our Chesterfield showroom and priced in a detailed written quote. Our own crews install it, and we stand behind the workmanship for 10 years.

BATHROOM

Tub-to-shower guest bathroom in Springhill

Springhill, Shelby Township · near Auburn and Ryan

An alcove tub became a walk-in shower with floor-to-ceiling subway tile and frameless glass.

Read the project

In the Springhill area, this guest bathroom’s alcove tub was replaced with a walk-in shower. The room now has floor-to-ceiling white subway tile, a mosaic niche and shower floor, frameless glass and a double vanity.

If you are thinking about removing a tub, consider who uses the bathroom, how the new shower will be accessed, and how storage will work once the layout changes.

FLOORING

Large-format tile in a 1999 home

Silent Woods, Shelby Township · near Schoenherr and 22 Mile

A dated 12×12 tile floor replaced with 24×48 tile.

Read the project

In a Silent Woods home built in 1999, we replaced a dated 12-by-12-inch tile floor with larger 24-by-48-inch tile. Tile size changes the look of a room, but the layout, substrate, transitions and movement joints still need attention before installation.

Shelby Township
remodeling questions.

Answers drawn from our Diegel Farms, Springhill and Silent Woods projects.

Can my Shelby Township kitchen fit an island with a cooktop?

Often, if there is enough clearance around it. In Diegel Farms we planned an island that holds an induction cooktop, storage, prep space and seating. We measure the room first, then show you in 3D where the cooking zone goes and how much walking space the island leaves.

Should I keep the tub in my Shelby Township guest bathroom?

It depends on who uses the room. If no one bathes there, a walk-in shower is usually easier to use and to clean. In Springhill we replaced an alcove tub with a tiled walk-in shower, frameless glass and a double vanity. Think through access and storage before you decide.

Can you replace the tile floors in a late-1990s Shelby Township home?

Yes. In a 1999 Silent Woods home we replaced 12-by-12-inch tile with 24-by-48-inch tile. Larger tile needs a flat, sound subfloor, planned transitions to other rooms and movement joints, so we check those before any tile is ordered.
